I arrived to Doubravice today after spending the first half of the year as a postdoc in Goettingen. It’s been nice (I’ll post some pictures soon), but I’m surprised how good it feels to know that I won’t be going back abroad for quite a while (I’ll be in Prague for a year, and then go back to G. for another year). Apparently the feeling of living in one country and not being split between two is important for me, more than I realized. Even though I’ve been visiting home regularly, it’s just not the same.

And of course now there will be lots of time to meet all my friends here – email me to plan something! Likewise if you’re somewhere else and want to come visit Czech Republic :)
